Listed under downloads is a copy of our current constitution with proposed changes highlighted.  The main change proposed is that the new BOD will be made up of the president, regional director and the 3 hubreps. The hubreps are currently appointed by the regional director but under this proposal, they would be elected by members in their respective hubs. The current method of selecting facreps wouldn’t change. The regional coordinator would serve as secretary for the BOD. The proposal keeps the current officer titles in place because that matches our current contract. This proposal contains the same language as our old constitution requiring delegate conventions. It will up to the new BOD to decide how that works. This revision also allows us to represent private sector employees, but doesn’t require it. A copy of the proposal will be posted at <naatsalaska.net>  and <naats.org> .  I will also email a copy to everyone. There is a link to a clean copy of the old constitution on <naatsalaska.net>. I would like to be able to put the amended constitution up for vote by August 18 so we can start the election process for the new BOD members by September 1. I know this may seem like a bit of a rush, but the new BOD or members can initiate more amendments or clarify some articles through published policies or by-laws. Any FAA employee who isn’t currently a member can vote on the new constitution if they send an SF-1187 to NAATS HQ and it is received before ballots are mailed out. The address is:
