Section 1. This Article established procedures for bargaining unit members to earn compensatory time in lieu of overtime and/or payment for days observed in lieu of actual holidays.

Section. 2. This Section provides an incentive for employees to earn compensatory time in lieu of overtime pay. The rate at which compensatory time is credited shall be 2.0 hours credited for each hour of operationally required work if the unit member has initiated the choice. If the employer solicits unit members to consider the crediting of compensatory time in lieu of overtime, then the rate of compensatory time credited shall be 2.5 hours for each hour of operationally required work.

Section 3. This section describes the procedures to be used when NAATS bargaining unit members choose to substitute compensatory time in lieu of holiday or day in lieu of compensation.

a If the bargaining unit member chooses to receive compensatory time in lieu of payment for working actual holiday, he/she will be credited at  the rate of 2.0 hours of compensatory time for each hour worked.

b if the bargaining unit member chooses to receive compensatory time off in lieu of payment for a day in lieu of holiday, he/She will be credited at the rate of 1.5 hours of compensatory time for each hour worked.

Section 4. The use of compensatory time in lieu of overtime/holiday/day in lieu of holiday pay is voluntary for NAATS bargaining unit members. If the unit members so opts, he/she shall be paid overtime/holiday pay in accordance with Article 27.
