Current Salary Information
Once you are fully qualified in your chosen speciality,
your salary will depend upon your experience and the location to which
you are posted. Currently, the salary ranges are:
- IFR Controllers
$66,000 to $90,500 per year plus Operational
Facility Premiums of $9,000 to $16,000 per year depending upon
location.
- VFR Controllers
$39,000 to $90,500 per year plus Operational
Facility Premiums of up to $9,000 per year.
- Flight Service Specialists
$37,400 to $50,500 per year.
In addition to base salary, controllers and
specialists may receive:
- For individuals posted to remote sites in Northern
Canada, Northern Living Allowance of up to $12,000 per year, some
subsidized housing and two trips per year to the closest major centre.
- Extra pay for working overtime, weekend or shift
work and for taking on extra responsibilities such as on the job
instruction or supervisory duties.
